C- Hi, do you have any Nora Roberts?
Acacia- Yep, sure do. Do you prefer her mysteries or romance?
C- Ummm, both.
Acacia- Ok, we've got 17 of her romance novels and 4 of her mysteries.
C- Oh. Well I'm just looking for one book in particular.
AAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't people just kill you? Working in retail and dealing with the public has really changed my opinion of some people.
Hang in there!
Hugs!!
Make that MOST people....
:)
I've actually read Nora's whole 'In Death' series, she writes as J.D. Robb, I was totally sucked in, and I must admit I scoured the bookshops in my area for some of them...I don't like any of her other stuff much though.
As a bookseller it must be frustrating, so I sympathise, but as a reader it is equally frustrating when you're looking for one in a series ;)
Tracey- yep people are a hoot. You'll be hearing about more of them. :))
Thump- I hear ya. I totally understand about wanting that 1 book in a series. Ironically it was the "In Death" series that she was looking for. It's just always exasperating when someone comes in, asks about an author, we have heaps of their stuff.... oh, by the way, I only want 1 particular title that they wrote.
It's always a let down when they just want one particular book. The odds of us having any 1 title are very slim. On the other hand, if you want to browse books, maybe discover a new author, we're the place.
yeah i totally understand, frustrating moments where i cant find the next book in a series has led me to some great authors...Lee Child is one, and Michael Connolly another, all good murder and mayhem stuff with a weird main character, which i love :)
